Rustic Refined Bowie Knife

Rustic Refined Bowie Knife

$999.95

This bowie knife was forged from an old American-made file. It has a forge-welded tang extension riveted over a pommel nut. The blade was traditionally clayed and quenched, creating a knife with a soft spine and a hard edge. The hamone (boundary between hard and soft steel) is visible in the finished blade as a wavy line, wrapping around the point and up the clip. The only profiling of the blade was done on the clip and edge so the file teeth can still be seen on the spine and ricasso.

The guard was hand forged from mild steel. It has a partial knuckle bow and was left as-forged.

The handle is premium curly maple and is heritage-fit. There are steel and copper spacers between the handle and guard.

The knife also has a custom made tooled veg-tan leather sheath with an as-forged frog tying it all together.
